By June 1940, France and most of Europe had fallen to the victorious German armies. Total defeat for Great Britain was a reality. A network of defences was hastily built all over the British Isles. Sited at road junctions, canals and other strategic points these constructions were called "pillboxes". This webring is for those who have an interest these unique pieces of British history.
